Almost ten years after the first arrests of the suspects, the First Instance Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will pronounce the verdict on the eleven defendants for 150 murders, torture, sexual abuse and other inhuman acts against the civilians of the Prijedor village of Zecovi. At least 150 Bosniak civilians were killed in the Zecovi area – 69 in the village, 20 civilians in other locations, 30 Bosniak civilians in the Prijedor municipality area camps, and the rest were killed in other locations and under other circumstances after persecution, the indictment from 2014 states, as well as that the inhabitants of Zecovi were held in the “Keraterm”, “Omarska” and “Trnopolje” concentration camps.

Dusan Milunic aka Bizon, Radomir Stojnic aka Grom, Radovan Cetic, Dusko Zoric, Zoran Stojnic, Zeljko Grbic, Ilija Zoric, Zoran Milunic, Bosko Grujicic, Ljubisa Cetic, Uros and Rade Grujcic aka Gruja, Zdravko Antonic aka Liko and Rajko Gnjatovic nicknamed Acim were accused with one other person concerning whom the indictment has not been confirmed.

According to the indictment, from July 23 to 28, 1992, as part of a broad and systematic attack by the Army and militia of the so-called Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they participated in the joint criminal enterprise of the civil and military authorities of the municipality of Prijedor.

Bosko Grujcic, Zeljko Grbic and Rade and Uros Grujcic were accused of sexually abusing women.

Most Prosecution witnesses spoke about the murder of 32 women and children in the hamlet of Gradina, after which the bodies were removed to a mass grave which are still to be found.

The indictment, represented by the prosecutor Izet Odobasic, states that the accused had committed a crime against humanity as members of the Rasava Company of the Republika Srpska Army (VRS) 43rd Brigade’s 6th Battalion, whose commander was Milunic, and the Rasavci Militia Reserve Station, whose commander was Radomir Stojnic, along with Radovan Cetic as the president of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and the Criris staff for the village of Rasavci.

The verdict will be pronounced on Friday, at 1 pm.
