Due to the restrictions and various measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in place across many countries, Bosnian citizens are spending their summer vacations in countries where they are allowed to and exotic destinations are this year more popular than ever.
Turkey, Montenegro, Greece and Croatia have so far been top destinations for BiH citizens planning their summer vacation, but the pandemic is changing this trend.
Travel agencies have been receiving more and more demands for exotic countries and trips to places like the Maldives, Zanzibar and Tanzania are popular destinations for Bosnians this year.
“People are increasingly looking for an active vacation. The days when you took a hotel to lie on the beach and enjoy the food are gone. People want to be on the move,” director of the M95 Tours travel agency, Adnan Kaljanac, told N1.
Many Bosnians still opt for Turkey this year, where there is a curfew in place that does not apply to tourists. Bosnians can also enter Montenegro, Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia without presenting a negative coronavirus test.
The most popular tourist destination for Bosnians, Croatia, still has a negative test requirement for foreigners entering the country in place.
Greece recently opened its borders for Bosnian citizens who present a PLF (Passenger Locator Form) and a negative PCR test or proof of being fully vaccinated.
