An explosion occurred in the Tuzla neighbourhood of Moluhe Friday morning, disturbing the citizens. After the initial unofficial information, that a bomb was activated when a man had died and a woman was injured, the Cantonal police confirmed those reports.

Tuzla police spokesperson Adnana Sprecic told N1 they received the tip at 7:55 am.

“There was an explosion on the first floor of a house. Due to the suspicion that there are more explosive devices in the house, special forces and members of the mine clearance team are on the ground,” Sprecic told N1.

Tuzla University Medical Centre spokesperson Ersija Asceric-Mujedinovic said a patient with the initials E.O. was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Anesthesiology and Reanimation Clinic, with multiple injuries to her extremities and that surgeons are preparing for her operation.

More information will be known after the investigation, which will begin only after it has been established that the scene is safe from additional explosive devices.

In the meantime, the Tuzla Canton's Interior Ministry confirmed that an “on-duty doctor of the Emergency Medical Service confirmed the death of M.O. born in 1968 from Tuzla.”
