The FBiH Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees has issued a public call for local government units to distribute one-time financial assistance to households whose homes were completely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable due to floods and landslides.

A total of 700,000 Bosnian marks (€ 350,000) has been allocated for this initiative, with individual aid amounts ranging from 8,000 (€4,000) to 15,000 Bosnian marks (€7,500), depending on the extent of damage to residential properties.

This effort represents the first step in implementing the Federation of BiH Government’s conclusion from January 23, 2025, which approved the allocation of 4 million euros, provided by the United Arab Emirates, to mitigate the consequences of natural disasters, the Ministry announced.

Additionally, the Ministry is preparing further measures, including a public call for financing infrastructure projects in disaster-affected areas.

“We are making every effort to gather the necessary data and lay the foundation for developing project documentation to provide housing for all families seeking assistance under this program. The process is still ongoing, as we have yet to receive the requested information from all local government units,” stated Nerin Dizdar, Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees.
