In his opening remarks, Minister Isak emphasized the importance of establishing effective mechanisms for identifying, tracking and recovering assets acquired through criminal activities.
"The establishment and development of the ARO office represent an important step in strengthening institutional capacities for conducting financial investigations and combating organized crime and corruption. The effective confiscation of illegally obtained assets clearly demonstrates the determination of institutions to ensure that criminal activities will not bring lasting benefits to their perpetrators and represents a strong mechanism for protecting the rule of law and the public interest," the minister said.
During the event, the responsibilities and working methods of the ARO office were presented, as well as mechanisms of cooperation with police agencies and other relevant institutions. Special focus was placed on improving cooperation and information exchange in the field of financial investigations, which represents one of the key elements in the fight against all forms of organized crime.
The presentation of the ARO office's work marks an important step toward strengthening the institutional framework for more effective financial investigations and the recovery of illegally acquired assets.
