Selimovic was sentenced to a unified long-term prison term of 45 years for two counts of murder committed in a particularly malicious manner.
According to the ruling of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla, on February 12, 2025, Selimovic killed his wife and son by suffocation in their shared apartment in Kalesija while they were asleep.
The court imposed individual sentences of 44 years in prison for the murder of his wife, identified as S.I., and their minor son born in 2011. Applying provisions related to combined sentencing, the court then issued a single sentence of 45 years in prison, which is the maximum penalty allowed by law.
The Cantonal Court in Tuzla stated that this is the harshest sentence prescribed under criminal legislation that the court has issued so far in cases involving the most serious criminal offenses under its jurisdiction.
