The tragedy occurred in the Grbavica district of Sarajevo during the morning hours, when a large tree, around ten metres tall, fell onto that woman who was passing by at the time, causing her severe head injuries. She was immediately taken to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her life.
Around 40 centimetres of wet snow fell in Sarajevo on Sunday, almost paralysing city traffic.
As of this morning, trams are running only from the Nedzarici district to Old Town's Bascarsija square as of this morning, according to the public GRAS company.
Tram traffic is not yet operational to Ilidza due to the state of emergency, but buses have been provided for all passengers, GRAS added.
Bus traffic in the Sarajevo Canton has been operating since this morning where possible, that is, where the roads have been cleared, according to GRAS.
"Buses to the settlements of Kosevsko Brdo and Pofalici are currently not operating. As for the minibuses, they are currently driving to the settlements that have been cleared, which are: Faletici, Tihovici, Nahorevo, Rjecica, Mokrine. Due to the uncleaned road, the minibus is not driving to Sokolje," said GRAS.
Local services cleared the main city roads during the night into Monday, while access to hilly parts of the city remained difficult on Monday.

VišeThe snow that covered a large part of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday caused traffic disruptions across the country, and on Monday many roads in the eastern and central regions were closed to lorries, while passenger vehicles were advised to exercise caution when planning journeys.
On Monday morning, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Automobile Club (BIHAMK) announced that lorry traffic is prohibited on several roads leading to Sarajevo via mountain passes.
Snowfall is forecast to continue throughout the week, and BIHAMK is calling for additional caution in the coming days when travelling across the country.
