Shortly after midnight on January 1, 2025, as the New Year began, a delegation of Bosnian citizens crossed the border into the Republic of Kosovo using only their identification cards, the portal Bosnjaci.net reported.
The group was welcomed at the border by Emilija Redzepi, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, signalling the official start of Kosovo's visa-free regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This milestone reflects a step forward in regional cooperation and mutual recognition.
It is anticipated that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s authorities will reciprocate by granting similar visa-free access to Kosovo citizens.
“We have a packed agenda tomorrow, including a reception with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Deputy Prime Minister Emilija Redzepi, a visit to the Kosovo Assembly, and tributes at the monument of Kosovo hero Adem Jashari. Additionally, we will tour Prizren, Djakovica, Pec, and Istok,” said Salih Sabovic, a member of the BiH delegation.
This development highlights growing ties between the two states and sets a precedent for improved mobility and cooperation in the region.
