The first Wiz Air flight from Dortmund to Banja Luka was ceremonially welcomed with water cannons at the Banja Luka International Airport on Thursday.
This is the first flight of the low-budget company Wizz Air, whose representatives announced three more flights from the international airport in Mahovljani to Europe.
These are the flights to Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Basel-Mulhouse in France and Malmö in Sweden. The price of a one-way ticket costs 19.99 euros.
The first passengers were welcomed by the Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska entity, Nedeljko Coric, and the General Manager of Banja Luka Airport, Milan Racic.
The plane on the Dortmund-Banja Luka route will operate twice a week.
The new flights are expected to stimulate the aviation and hospitality sector in the region, and better connect BiH citizens from the diaspora with relatives and friends in the country.
