Authorities have issued a flood risk warning for the Adriatic watershed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the lower Neretva and Trebizat River basins, due to expected continued heavy rainfall. The Water Agency for the Adriatic Sea Basin in Mostar announced that intense precipitation could lead to river overflow and flash floods in the affected areas.

The hydrological event is expected to begin on March 26, with peak water levels projected for March 29 and 30. Relevant institutions have been advised to closely monitor the situation and implement measures in accordance with the Federal Flood Defense Operational Plan. Emergency response teams are urged to exercise additional caution while carrying out protective and rescue operations.

Residents in at-risk areas, particularly those near rivers lacking protective structures, are warned to stay away from riverbanks due to the potential rise in water levels and increased flow velocity. The statement emphasizes that civil protection authorities should issue timely notifications with guidelines on safety measures to minimize material damage and risks to public safety.
