The destabilisation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would also result in the destabilisation of the entire region and it is in everyone’s interest to keep the region peaceful, prosperous and going in the right direction, Bosnia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Bisera Turkovic, said after meeting with her Croatian counterpart, Gordon Grlic Radman, on Wednesday.
“Our doors are always open, just as Croatia's doors are open to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Turkovic said.
She said the two had “very open and meaningful conversations” and that there are unresolved issues between the two countries since they have “more than 140 bilateral agreements.”
Turkovic said that they concluded that Bosnia’s task in meeting the 14 key criteria necessary to become an EU candidate country must be brought back into the focus and that the functionality of the state must be ensured.
“The destabilisation of BiH cannot happen without the destabilisation of the entire region, and we all care about the region being peaceful, prosperous and going in the right direction,” she stressed.
“The ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia are strong. Bosnia and Herzegovina is Croatia's largest trading partner outside the European Union. Our past, present and future are connected,” she added.
