The case involved Novalic, as well as the head of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration Fahrudin Solak and businessman Fikret Hodzic, who were charged with illegal activities committed in the process of purchasing ventilators during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the first-instance verdict in the case by which Novalic was sentenced to four years in prison.
FTV reported on Friday that Novalic stated: “Yes, it is true, we did not receive the verdict officially, but they informed me that it was confirmed. What follows now is the serving of sentence – yes, I am going to prison.”
Now, Novalic denies he ever said this.
“Foreign directors and domestic executors brought this process to an end by grossly violating rights and trampling on justice. The culmination of the staged process is the fabrication of my statement, which the Federal Television invented last night and the media that carried out the project reported in chorus. I said I would expose the structure that designed this project. In the coming days, I will present all the information I have regarding this rigged process. The fight will continue and justice will win,” said Novalic.
