Four BiH customs officers arrested in corruption investigation

The operation targeted four customs officials from the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (UIOBiH) stationed at border crossings in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina along the Croatian border; specifically, Gradiska, Kozarska Dubica, Gradina, and Brod.

The suspects are believed to have engaged in corrupt activities while processing the entry of goods and passengers into Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the searches, authorities discovered and seized a substantial amount of cash, totalling tens of thousands of euros, from one of the suspects.

Once the suspects are handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the assigned prosecutor will determine the next steps in the case, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
