The fourth Eco Drina Regatta started today in Gorazde on Sunday as part of the 26th International Festival of Friendship.

Despite the bad weather conditions, more than 50 boats with about 400 participants set off from the “Buk” Kayaking Club camp from the location of Modran near Ustikolina to sail on the Drina River.

The organizer, Dzenis Culov, is glad that the forecasts did not spoil the mood of the numerous participants who arrived at the regatta from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.

“We had about 700 registered participants, however, due to the announced bad weather conditions, many gave up, but we are glad that the regatta did not fail. We have students from four continents from more than ten countries, and among others at the regatta are representatives of the American Embassy in BiH, the mayor of Herceg Novi from Montenegro and numerous other guests,” said Culov.
