President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity Milorad Dodik, currently under indictment by the Bosnian judiciary, has once again left Bosnia and Herzegovina and travelled to Russia. His visit to Saint Petersburg is connected to his participation in the International Economic Forum, during which he gave an interview to the Russian newspaper Izvestia, touching on broader geopolitical issues.

Speaking on US foreign policy, Dodik described Donald Trump as a “positive change” for the United States, in contrast to the previous administration, which he portrayed as a threat to global stability, according to RTRS.

“If Biden had stayed in power, we would be on the brink of World War III. His policy was entirely focused on the interests of power,” Dodik stated.

He added that, in his view, the Trump administration did not support the “experiments and nonsense” of modern society, but rather advocated for “traditional values, family, and American strength.”

In a similar tone, Dodik expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Putin’s positions on preserving tradition and social relations are proving to be a key to stability.

“I believe that Trump and Putin will do everything possible to make the world a better place,” Dodik said.

In the interview, Dodik also sharply criticised the European Union, claiming that “Europe is no longer a shining ideal” and that it has lost its strategic vision.

“The EU has lost the advantages it once had, and countries that draw closer to it begin to fall apart. No leader can pull the continent forward,” he declared.
