A meeting in Istocno Sarajevo today addressed the ongoing gas crisis, which had led to the shutoff of gas supplies. Nedeljko Elek, Director of Sarajevo-Gas Istocno Sarajevo, confirmed that gas supply to Sarajevo has resumed normally.
“We must work together on major projects, such as gasification. Over the next ten days, we will have several meetings to find a solution. We have agreed there will be no gas interruptions during this period. I signed the order to resume gas flow this morning at the request of Milorad Dodik,” Elek stated, emphasizing the need for cooperation.
Elek added that both sides, Sarajevo-Gas and Energoinvest, are considering each other's arguments and aiming for a mutually satisfactory resolution. “We have put payments on hold until an agreement is reached. The most important thing is that users are satisfied and never have to worry about whether they will have gas,” he said.
Mirza Ustamujic, Director of Energoinvest, also expressed satisfaction with the constructive tone of the discussions, noting, “We will no longer tolerate threats or ultimatums. The conversation was constructive, and while there are differences in our positions, we are on the right track.”
Both directors emphasized that there would be no further disruptions in gas supply, and efforts will continue to find a long-term solution that benefits all parties involved.
