German Defence Attaché Lt. Col. Franz-Josef Nolte signed an agreement on the allocation of over € 1.35 million with the Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH, Slaven Galic, and the Acting Resident Representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sylvain Merlen, on Wednesday.
The German Defence Ministry will provide the said funds to completely restore the central weapons storage of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Teufik Buza” in Visoko. This is to ensure that light and heavy weapons can be safely stored there in the future.
UNDP will implement and realize this project on behalf of the BiH Defence Ministry.
This year, the German Defence Ministry allocated a total of € 6.5 million to the BiH Armed Forces. Of this, almost € 5 million will be used to rebuild barracks and other infrastructure in the country to improve the living and working conditions of Bosnian soldiers.
