During recent intergovernmental development cooperation talks between Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Berlin, Germany pledged substantial assistance totalling € 157.5 million. This funding, provided through a combination of favourable loans, grants, and technical cooperation, will primarily target projects in energy transition and sustainable economic development.
Germany, through the German Development Bank (KfW), is supporting initiatives such as the construction of wind farms and the decarbonization of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy sector. Additionally, the German organization Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is assisting businesses and public services in areas like digitalization, vocational training, and the development of a circular economy.
Germany will also champion good governance practices and support public institutions in their ongoing efforts to align with European Union standards.
“This commitment reflects Germany's partnership and its support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s transformation toward a sustainable and economically stable future in Europe,” announced the Public Relations Department of the German Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
