The son of the former Bayern Munich legend and the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hasan Salihamidzic, Nick, was invited to the youth selection of BiH.
Nick did not hide his satisfaction about being called up to the national team and he told the “Bosnische Nationalmannschaft” that he can't wait to make his debut.
“I was invited last year, maybe some know this, but there were some complications because the club demanded that I stay. There were some problems with the passport and then unfortunately we didn't make it, but I'm glad to be here now. When I received the invitation to the national team, I was very happy, because it was always one of my dreams to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina. That's what I always told my friends and my family,” young Salihamidzic said.
He doesn't speak the Bosnian language fluently, but he pointed out that he wants to follow in the footsteps of his father Hasan.
“Simply put, I want to follow in the footsteps of my biggest idol, my father, and since I was little I wanted to be like him, and one part of that is to play for BiH. But not only for that but also to make my family in Bosnia happy and be successful with the national team. To qualify for the European Championship. When I think about my future in the BiH team, I look forward to it and hope that one day I will play for the A team. And now with the U-21 national team, let's achieve our goals and qualify for the European Championship this year. To make our people happy. I am looking forward to the games in September, but also to the ones after that. We are playing against Albania in June, I am looking forward to that. Mostly because many goals await me with Bosnia,” said Nick Salihamidzic.
