The highest monthly net salary in 2023 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was 429,123.86 Bosnian marks (some €215,000) and was paid in the production sector, the FBiH Tax Administration told FENA news agency.
According to the Tax Administration records and based on the data from form MIP-1023 (Monthly report on paid salaries, realized benefits and other taxable income of employees from non-independent activities, paid contributions and advance payment of income tax), the second highest monthly net salary in FBiH in 2023 amounted to 345,824.86 marks (some €180,000) and was also paid in the production sector.
In the same activity, the third and fourth highest monthly net salaries were paid in the amounts of 266,105.53 marks (around €133,000) and 238,610.22 marks (approx. €119,999), while the fifth highest net salary amounted to 193,962.31 marks (some 100,000), and it was paid in the sector of wholesale trade.
The assumption is that, in addition to the regular monthly salary, the stated amount also includes income from certain bonuses or benefits that the person has received. Paid taxes and contributions are also calculated on the paid amount of the salary.
The President of the Association of Employers in the FBiH, Adnan Smailbegovic, stated in October 2023 “that he considers the proposal that the minimum wage be 1,000 Bosnian marks (roughly €500) to be unsustainable and an impossible mission under today's conditions”.
