As many as 200,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine against coronavirus were delivered to Podgorica on Monday, as a donation of Hungary to Montenegro.
The shipment was formally presented by the visiting Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, the Montenegrin health ministry said in a press release.
Health Minister Jelena Borovvinic-Bojovic was quoted as expressing gratitude for this delivery.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, about 100,000 Montenegrins, which is a sixth of the country's total population, have contracted the novel virus. To date, 1,619 COVID patients in that country have died as a consequence of this infectious disease.
