Indirect tax revenues in BiH reach 3.75 billion marks in first quarter of 2025

During this period, the ITA refunded 738 million marks (approx. €378 million) in VAT to taxpayers who met the legal criteria.

Net revenues distributed to government institutions, the two entities, and the Brcko District amounted to 3.012 billion marks (approx. €1.54 billion EUR), which is 3.46% higher than the amount distributed during the same four-month period in 2024.

In April alone, indirect tax revenues reached 998 million marks (approx. €512 million), an increase of 26 million marks or 2.69% compared to April 2024.

Of the total revenues collected from indirect taxes in the January–April 2025 period, 329 million marks (approx. €169 million) was allocated for financing state-level institutions. The remainder was distributed to the entities and Brcko District, with the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina receiving 1.632 billion marks (approx. €835 million), Republika Srpska 914 million marks (approx. €467 million), and Brcko District 92 million marks (approx. €47 million).

Additionally, under the special road tax of 0.25 marks per litre for the construction and reconstruction of highways and other roads, the Federation received an additional 72 million marks (approx. €36.8 million), Republika Srpska 48 million marks (approx. €24.5 million), and Brcko District 2 million marks (approx. €1 million). The remaining funds constitute a reserve on the special road tax account.
