Initiative for dismissal of BiH Security Minister submitted to Parliament

According to Denis Zvizdic, the Speaker of the BiH Parliament, an initiative for the reconstruction of the Council of Ministers of the country was submitted to parliamentary procedure on Friday which includes the dismissal of Security Minsiter Nenad Nesic, who is in custody over alleged corruption.

“Today, an initiative for the reconstruction of the BiH Council of Ministers, specifically the dismissal of Minister Nesic, was submitted to parliamentary procedure. In accordance with the provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, I forwarded it to the BiH Presidency, the BiH Council of Ministers, all representatives of the House of Representatives, as well as the House of Peoples,” Zvizdic stated.

He further added:

“In accordance with Article 154 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, the proposal for a vote of no confidence, or the dismissal of Minister Nesic, will be included in the agenda of the House of Representatives session within 20 days, and no later than 30 days from the date the initiative was submitted to the BiH Council of Ministers.”

Nesic was ordered into custody for one month by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina after being arrested on January 26 by the police of the Republika Srpska entity at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nesic, along with Mladen Lucic and Milan Dakic, the director of the Public Enterprise “Roads of Republika Srpska,” is suspected of involvement in organized crime, money laundering, abuse of official position or authority, and accepting bribes.

Nesic has served as the Minister of Security of BiH since 2022, and he was the director of the above mentioned company from 2016 to 2020.
