The Summer School's project leader, Azir Osmanovic, said that students are learning from experts at the Srebrenica Memorial Center in the fields of memorialisation, oral history, museology and archaeology, as well as from distinguished lecturers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
"The programme also includes visits to key historical sites associated with the Srebrenica genocide, as well as participation in the international conference to be held in Potocari. The Summer School offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the genocide through a combination of academic knowledge, historical facts and direct engagement with sites of remembrance. Over the coming days, participants will attend lectures, speak with witnesses, and visit the Memorial Center and other key locations linked to the Srebrenica genocide, enabling them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the facts surrounding the genocide," Osmanovic said.
The Srebrenica Memorial Center said that previous experience and positive feedback from participants confirm the value and importance of the Summer School in expanding knowledge about the genocide and preserving the culture of remembrance.
