Komsic meets with US congressional delegation to discuss security, elections and energy projects

The meeting focused on key issues related to the security, stability and economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The interlocutors emphasized that the security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina are among the key prerequisites for attracting new investment and creating a more favorable business environment.

They also discussed the upcoming elections, which will be held for the first time in the country with the use of new election technologies. They expressed the expectation that their implementation will contribute to greater transparency of the electoral process, more accurate determination of election results and reduced opportunities for electoral fraud.

Particular attention was paid to the Southern Interconnection project, an important infrastructure project expected to contribute to diversifying natural gas supply sources, strengthening energy security, and supporting the economic growth and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting also addressed the issue of state property, with emphasis on the need to find a sustainable solution that would protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina while also enabling new investment opportunities and stronger economic development.

John Ginkel, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also attended the meeting.
