The National Assembly of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity will be discussing another proposal for a law on immovable property on Tuesday, and Zeljko Komsic, the Bosnian Croat member of the country’s tripartite Presidency, already announced he will appeal the law before the Constitutional Court if it passes.
This is the fifth time the RS is trying to introduce a law on entity property. The RS National Assembly had adopted such laws in the past, but the Constitutional Court of BiH would always annul them.
Komsic argued that the upcoming session in the RS National Assembly is another attempt by RS President, Milorad Dodik, to introduce an unconstitutional law.
“Given that he was not punished but rewarded for his anti-constitutional actions, Milorad Dodik continues to undermine the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. When it comes to property, we already have the verdict of the Constitutional Court, where the activities of the Assembly of the RS entities were declared unconstitutional. If that assembly again adopts the unconstitutional law on immovable property, an appeal will again be submitted to the Constitutional Court, this time by me,” Komsic announced.
“Dodik is clearly pushing and hopes that we will give up challenging everything that is unconstitutional before the Constitutional Court. Of course, foreigners who encourage the anti-constitutional actions of Dodik and the RS Assembly are also responsible for this kind of action,” he said.
