Konakovic to attend SEECP foreign ministers’ meeting marking 30th anniversary of regional initiative

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konakovic will today participate in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Sofia, at the invitation of Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova.

The SEECP is an important regional platform established with the aim of strengthening trust, good-neighborly relations, and stability. Its mission includes enhancing security, the political climate, and economic ties, as well as cooperation in the fields of democracy, justice, human resource development, and the fight against illegal activities and terrorism.
SEECP members are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Türkiye, and Kosovo.
This year’s meeting, under the theme “A Common Compass for a Stable, Secure and Sustainable Region - 30 Years of Regional Ownership and European Aspirations,” carries special symbolic and political significance as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of the SEECP.
It will provide an opportunity to reflect on the collective achievements of the past three decades and to define the next steps for the future of the region.
