Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic met with State Secretary for International Relations of Slovenia Vojko Volk, in Ljubljana, on Wednesday.
The interlocutors assessed the relations between the two countries as friendly and without open issues. They emphasized good cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism and culture, but at the same time reiterated their firm commitment to improving and strengthening overall political and economic relations.
Konakovic congratulated Slovenia on its successful election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2024 and 2025 and expressed his gratitude to Slovenia for supporting BiH on its path to NATO and EU integration, especially for its efforts in granting BiH candidate status for EU membership.
He noted that Slovenia's continued support is extremely important for BiH before the EU Commission and EU member states in the coming period, so that after the announcement of the enlargement package, we can hope for a decision on opening negotiations for BiH as well.
