Radio TV Kosovo (RTK) said on Wednesday that the European Union will not approve a liberalization of the visa regime for Kosovo because of the heightened tensions following the failure of top political leaders to resolve the license plates dispute.

RTK said that the Czech EU presidency decided not to put visa liberalization on the agenda of today’s meeting at ambassador level “due to the political events in the north of Kosovo”. The EU presidency decided to move the debate on the liberalization of the visa regime to th next meeting on November 30.

According to RTK, this is the first time that the visa liberalization process for Kosovo has been linked to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
