Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said she has confirmation from several sources “that (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic is behind the September 24 attack” in the village of Banjska, northern Kosovo, and that NATO members know this, but that each state will decide for itself on how it will use this information, reported the Kosovo Online portal.
“These testimonies have been confirmed by our most important ally, and have been shared with NATO member states. Everything points to Vucic. We are not talking about his loss of control over some gangs. We are talking about him organizing and ordering the attacks through gangs, as well as financing them,” Osmani told an interview with the Arab Al-Aan TV station, Kosovo Online reported.
She stressed that Vucic “is now trying to evade responsibility.”
The Kosovo President said the publishing of a report on the Banjska incident will depend on the NATO partners and those conducting the investigation, adding that she “is not interfering,” reported Kosovo Online.
Armed clashes broke out between a group of Kosovo Serbs, led by former deputy leader of the Belgrade-backed Serb List Milan Radoicic, and the Kosovo Police on September 24 in the Banjska village in northern Kosovo. One Kosovo police officer and three Serbs were killed. Radoicic has accepted responsibility for the events in Banjska, denying any involvement of the Serbian authorities.
