Lakic with BH-Gas management: Southern Interconnection project remains top priority

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, Vedran Lakic, held a working meeting with the management of BH-Gas to assess progress and set priorities for the next stage of the Southern Interconnection project, following his recent visit to Greece and talks with senior U.S. officials.

According to the ministry, all participants reaffirmed that the Southern Interconnection remains the government’s top strategic priority. The project is viewed as essential to strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s long-term energy security, diversifying natural gas supply routes, and supporting more stable economic growth and household energy access.
The meeting also underscored that the United States continues to be a strong and dependable partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the energy sector.
The ministry said it would maintain close coordination with all relevant partners and institutions to ensure the project advances according to schedule and in the best interest of citizens.
