Germany's national carrier Lufthansa has launched the Sarajevo-Frankfurt-Sarajevo flight, which will operate four times a week in May, connecting the Bosnian capital city with the German flag carrier's main hub.

The company plans to increase the frequency to seven flights per week as of June already.

Sarajevo International Airport said this route will enable the travellers a better connection with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“It is important to say that Lufthansa Group adds with this flight to the already existing flights from Sarajevo to Vienna but also provides the travellers from Bosnia and Herzegovina with an opportunity to use all advantages of the world's Lufthansa Group network,” said a statement issued by the Sarajevo airport on Monday.
