Marijo Pejic, head of Croat National Council (HNV) in BiH dies

The Head of the Croat National Council (HNV), Marijo Pejic, has died Monday evening, Sarajevo University Clinical Centre CEO Sebija Izetbegovic confirmed for the local Hayat TV.

"He was very seriously ill. I was with him yesterday, he was better, we talked. Today, when I visited that part of the clinic where he was placed, I heard this sad news,“ Izetbegovic told Hayat.

Marijo Pejic was born in Sarajevo, in 1977.

He was the CEO of several institutions in Sarajevo: Media Center HKD Napredak, Radio Station Vrhbosna, Bosnian Cultural Center (in two terms), Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHT1). He was a member of the Management Board of the BHRT, the Programme Council of the Management Board of BHRT for two terms. Since 2018, he has also been an editor at Federation (FBiH) entity television – FTV.

Pejic was also a member of the Croat Society for Science and Art of BiH, the Association of Independent Intellectuals Krug 99 and other non-governmental organizations. At the session of the 8th Parliament of the Croatian National Council in BiH on March 9, 2019, he was unanimously elected President of the HNS in BiH.
