"May the joy of Eid embrace everyone," says Bosnia Grand Mufti Kavazovic

His full message, as transmitted by the MINA News Agency, reads:

"Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today is the Day of Arafat, a sacred time when our pilgrims fulfil one of the fundamental pillars of Hajj.

Arafat is the place where Adam, peace be upon him, and Eve began their earthly life. According to our religious sources, this is the best day of the year.

These are blessed moments in our lives when pilgrims at Arafat engage in dhikr (remembrance of God) and pray to the Almighty for the forgiveness of their sins and the sins of their parents, children, and loved ones.

They are joined by millions of Muslims around the world, who mark the day through fasting and supplication, adding to the greatness of this occasion.

Tomorrow, dear brothers and sisters, is Eid al-Adha – a day when we offer our sacrifices and demonstrate our willingness to make personal sacrifices for higher goals in life; a time to share joy within our families and with our relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Let us spend this day with cheerful faces and open hearts, surrounded by those we love. Let us visit the sick, the poor, and the lonely, and bring them joy with gestures of kindness and care. May the joy of Eid embrace everyone, and may all rejoice with us.

To all Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the upcoming Eid al-Adha.

I send special greetings to our brothers and sisters in Sandzak, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, the Bosniak diaspora, and to Muslims around the world.
