Medimpex backs out of procurement of Russian vaccine for Bosnia's FBiH entity

The Medimpex company informed the Institute of Public Health of Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity that it is giving up its participation in the procurement of vaccines for this BiH entity, the FBiH Public Health Institute confirmed for N1, adding that the letter was forwarded to the FBiH Government.

On March 18, 2021, this company signed a contract with the FBiH Government for the procurement of vaccines for the territory of the FBiH.

The contract was signed after the FBiH Government instructed the Public Health Institute, at a session held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, to sign a contract with the selected wholesaler without delay.

Medimpex d.o.o. Sarajevo has contracted to deliver 500,000 doses of Gam-Covid-Vac vaccine (SPUTNIK V) for the immunization of the population in the FBiH in 2021, and that the first delivery of 100,000 doses will be delivered within three working days after the confirmation of acceptance of letters of credence from the manufacturer, and the remaining deliveries of 400,000 doses of vaccine to be delivered successively.

After this, Medimpex informed the FBiH Government and the FBiH PHI that they had not received the necessary documentation from Russia. The deadline was March 23, 2021.
