Top officials from Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity attended a memorial service in Bratunac for the 3,267 Serbs from the Podrinje area who died during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia.
According to RS Prime Minister, Radovan Viskovic, “the suffering of the Serb people in Podrinje in the past was remained unpunished.”
He said that only one “shameful and humiliating” court ruling was handed down regarding the “about 3,500 Serb victims.”
Speaking at the memorial service, the Metropolitan bishop of Dabar-Bosna, Hrizostom Jevic, said that the Serb people bear witness the Serbs who were killed in Podrinje and that the role of the Serb Orthodox Church is to maintain the memory of these crimes.
