MEP Tineke Strik warned that the document on "peaceful dissolution," received by the heads of caucuses of the Republika Srpska National Assembly represents an "immediate threat" to peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and called on the USA, OHR and the European Union to "urgently develop a coherent and credible deterrence strategy", in response to that.

“This imminent threat to BiH's territorial integrity and peace cannot be met with silence from the EU and OHR. Crucial that the US, EU and OHR urgently develop a coherent and credible deterrence strategy for the usage of Bonn Powers and to break BiH's current political deadlock,” Strik wrote.

The document that was announced a long time by the president of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, is officially called “Information on the need to initiate the procedure of regulating the relations between the Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the Dayton Agreement and international acts”.

Article 7 of the document states that “the parties are peacefully separating due to the impossibility of renewing the original General Framework for Peace in BiH, which guaranteed the equality of entities and constituent peoples based on consensus by applying consociative democracy and mechanisms to protect entity and ethnic interests.”
