Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosna delivered his Easter message ahead of the upcoming feast of the Resurrection of Christ, emphasizing that whenever the word ''Resurrection'' is spoken, it should be understood as a confession of the greatest mystery prepared by the Lord for humankind.

"The Resurrection of Christ is not only a historical event, but a wondrous mystery of the salvation of humanity and all of God’s creation," said Metropolitan Hrizostom.

He stressed that Jesus Christ gave humanity the possibility to choose a life without sin.

He also noted that, unfortunately, this year as well, the joy of Easter and festive celebration has been overshadowed by tragic events in the Middle East.

"The horrific events in Iran, Israel and Arab countries of the Middle East have saddened the world and plunged it into despair, with unforeseeable consequences," he said.

He added that it is deeply saddening to see the holy city of Jerusalem appearing deserted and eerie.

He emphasized condemnation of violence against people and nations, especially state terrorism.

"We appeal for dialogue, discussions, and diplomatic solutions to global problems instead of wars. God expects us, above all, in His name, to respect and love every human being, whoever they may be," he underlined.

In his Easter message, Metropolitan Hrizostom also expressed sorrow over the destruction of sacred and religious sites belonging to other religions, peoples, and civilizations.

On this occasion, he wished all believers a happy and blessed Easter with the traditional greeting "Christ is risen! Indeed He is risen!".
