Milorad Dodik proposes joint RS-Russia advisory body following meeting with Vladimir Putin

During the talks, Dodik, allegedly, proposed establishing a high-level advisory mechanism to annually review strategic bilateral relations. "I proposed that the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska form an advisory team consisting of the presidents and prime ministers of the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska," Dodik stated, adding that Moscow would consider the initiative. "They will think about it and probably inform us in due course. We would like this to happen, but we understand the international circumstances.”

Addressing the internal political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik maintained that the Dayton Peace Agreement had been altered by international representatives and insisted on a return to its original terms.

"We conveyed that it is necessary to return to the letter of Dayton and restore to Republika Srpska all powers that, in our view, were taken away," Dodik noted, warning that the state's future remains uncertain without a fundamental agreement between its two entities and three constituent peoples. He added: "We are not for any destabilisation. We do not want any conflicts, but we do not want to be obedient subordinates either."

Reaffirming his opposition to NATO membership, Dodik strongly criticised European Union policies and reiterated that Republika Srpska will not support sanctions against Moscow or visa requirements for Russian citizens. "We are strategic partners of the Russian Federation. Strategic partnership means exchanging all information and cooperation possible at the highest level," Dodik declared, confirming that "we will not introduce sanctions against Russia."

On economic matters, Dodik announced that Russia agreed to maintain existing gas prices and expand import quotas for agricultural products from Republika Srpska. Further discussions addressed setting up a jet engine overhaul line at the "Orao" facility in Bijeljina, Russian assistance in completing the interior of the Russian-Serbian Cultural Centre in Banja Luka, and medical research collaboration with the Russian Academy of Sciences. Concluding his remarks, Dodik emphasised that Republika Srpska remains "permanently focused on cooperation with Russia."
