The procedure was conducted by the Agency for Science and Higher Education, which operates within the European quality assurance frameworks ENQA and EQAR. Experts from several European countries, including Croatia, Ireland, Austria, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Norway, took part in the evaluation.
The panel assessed governance, study programmes, the teaching process, student support, academic staff capacity, infrastructure, and scientific and professional activities.
The report highlighted developed quality assurance mechanisms, clearly defined learning outcomes, a student-centred approach, and progress in infrastructure and teaching methods.
The University of Mostar is the only public higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina where teaching is conducted in Croatian. It comprises 11 faculties and one academy, with 8,600 students enrolled, more than 20% of whom come from Croatia.
The university is also supported by the Croatian government, which allocated €10 million to it last year.
