MP: FBiH Const. Court ruled some symbols, terms in some cantons unconstitutional

"The Constitutional Court of the Federation of BiH has determined that the Constitution of the West Herzegovina Canton violates multiple provisions of the Constitution of the Federation of BiH. The decision confirmed, among other things, that the coat of arms and flag of this canton represent only one constituent people – the Croats – which violates the fundamental constitutional principles of equality among the constituent peoples and citizens," Kajan stated in a press release.

Kajan added that the decision also challenged the use of the term 'zupanija', which is not in accordance with the Constitution of the Federation of BiH. This ruling was also confirmed in 2001 by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"However, despite these clear and binding rulings, certain cantons continue to use unconstitutional symbols and terminology," Kajan emphasized in the press release.
