N1 interview with Ahmed Husagic: EU is the only right path for Bosnia

Husagic, who is known for his engagement in the areas of politics and cooperation with Bosnian diaspora, explained why the country should follow the path to the EU membership.

“In all aspects, from business to politics, we must be aware of our geographical position,” said the experd, emphasisisng that despite the presence of Euroscepticism in some parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its natural path is inevitably the one of integrating into Europe.

According to him, emotional approach in the politics of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the factor that blocks rational and reasonable discussions.

“In politics, emotions need to be put aside. When one has no enough of knowledge, they lean on emotions,” he stressed.

Ahmed Husagic was born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is actively involved in the cooperation with Bosnian diaspora, where he successfully connects people and ideas between BiH and the countries with numerous emigrants -especially in Austria, where he was active in the ruling Social Democratic Party. He is one of the founders of the Strength of the Homeland Movement, which advocates better policies and practices that could enable the emigrants to have a more active role in BiH.
