N1 learned that the international community’s High Representative, Christian Schmidt, will introduce amendments to the FBiH Constitution in the coming days. This was said at one of the meetings with representatives of political parties.
This decision comes after the Government of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity has not been formed to date because it did not receive the signature of the entity's Vice President, Refik Lendo from the Democratic Action Party (SDA).
Earlier, the High Representative clearly stated that the election result cannot be implemented even though majority support exists in both houses for the new government.
“Especially bearing in mind that the continuation of the work of the current FBiH Government, which is in a technical mandate, would not be in accordance with democratic practice and would not reflect the will of the voters. The FBiH is in a political deadlock and split between political blocs because this is not about a fundamental disagreement between the citizens living in the FBiH,” Schmidt said earlier.
