The newly elected President of Bosnia's High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) Judge Halil Lagumdzija said he plans to use all his efforts to make the institution function in accordance with the law, Fena news agency said, Wednesday.
Lagumdzija was elected after the second round of votes in which eight members of the Council (more than half) voted in his favour.
Lagumdzija, who took over the chairmanship of the HJPC session after the end of the procedure, expressed his gratitude to the colleagues for the trust they placed in him.
At the same time, he pointed out that he is ready for maximum engagement and that he will invest all his human and professional capacities in order for the HJPC BiH to act in accordance with the law and bylaws in the future.
In the continuation of the session, the election of two vice presidents and a permanent member of the HJPC BiH began.
Sanela Gorusanovic-Butigan and Biljana Simeunovic were elected vice presidents of the HJPC BiH, and Selim Karamehic as a permanent member.
