Konjic is making strides in recovery after devastating floods, with new initiatives aimed at providing shelter and restoring essential services. A collective reception center is being built to accommodate those hit hardest by the disaster, showcasing the city's commitment to rebuilding lives.

The civil protection headquarters of the city of Konjic continues to provide support for the affected population following the floods that hit the area two weeks ago.

“A collective reception center with 20 residential units is being constructed in Buturovic Polje for the most vulnerable categories of the population who suffered damage due to heavy rainfall on October 4th of this year. On the ground, three expert commissions are constantly assessing damages. All available resources are engaged in protection and rescue operations, and efforts are ongoing to restore road connections in the affected areas of the city of Konjic,” the Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ) stated.

Construction machinery is constantly engaged in most of the areas affected by the floods in this region. In the Buturovic Polje area, streets and residential buildings are being cleaned up.

The electricity supply has been restored in all populated areas except for part of Donja Jablanica. Workers from the municipal company and BH Telecom are repairing the water supply and telephone networks. Rescue teams, with the help of volunteers and construction machinery, continued working throughout the day to clear the ruins in Donja Jablanica.

Volunteers, along with construction machinery, cleared road communications and buildings in Zlat, Mirke, and other areas affected by the floods. The Federal Roads Directorate, along with its design and contracting firms, maintains main roads M-17, M-17-5, and M-16-2. Intensive work is underway to make the main road M-17-5 Jablanica – Blidinje passable again.

Expert teams are inspecting the terrain, assessing the damages, and providing recommendations for their removal. Food and medicine are being delivered to residents in the municipality.

The government of the SBK/KSB canton adopted a decision on Thursday to end the state of emergency caused by heavy rainfall in the canton. By the same decision, the government instructed the heads of administrative bodies and administrative organizations of the Central Bosnia Canton to, as part of their regular activities, also perform additional tasks related to eliminating the consequences of the disaster over the next 90 days.

According to reports from the flooded municipalities, the situation on the ground is gradually normalizing, and the focus is mainly on clearing and repairing the damage in the municipalities of Kiseljak, Fojnica, and Kresevo.
