Zbanic’s war drama about a female U.N. interpreter’s desperate efforts to save her family during the 1995 genocide in the east Bosnian town of Srebrenica was the second Bosnian movie to be nominated for the Oscar. Danis Tanovic took the award home for his “No Man’s Land” in 2002.
