A total of 99,748 tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in March this year, which is by 12.8 percent more than in previous month and 19.5 more than in March last year.
According to the Statistics Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were 2.9 percent more overnight stays in March compared to February and 18.2 percent more than in March last year.
Participation of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays is 34.9 percent and 65.1 percent were foreign tourists.
Among the foreigners, the tourists from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia. Montenegro, Turkey, Germany and the USA were the ones who made the most overnight stays in BiH in March 2023.
As for the length of the stay among the foreign tourists, the tourists from Iran top the list with average stay of 4.4 nights, followed by tourists from Malta with 4.2 nights, Canada with 3.7 nights, Cyprus with 3.6 nights, Kuwait with 3.4 nights, and Bahrein and UK with average stay of 3.2 nights each.
Tourists had 18,411 rooms, apartments and camping sites available in BiH in March, which is slightly less than in March last year, while the number of available beds was 40,403 – 1.3 percent more than in March 2022.
