One girl was killed and two were seriously injured in a traffic accident that happened in the Sarajevo Centar Municipality, while one person was arrested after the investigation, Sarajevo Canton’s Interior Ministry announced Saturday.

As stated in the police report, at around 11:30 pm, on May 26, 2023, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Marsala Tita Street – Dolina, Municipality of Centar Sarajevo.

On that occasion, pedestrian S.A. born in 1998 from Sarajevo was hit and fell onto the roadway, another person with the initials S.A. born in 1997 as well as S.E. born in 2002 in Ilidza were also hit by the passenger motor vehicle “Mercedes” driven by B.A. born in 1996, from Sarajevo.

In this traffic accident, pedestrian S.A. was killed on the spot, the second pedestrian S.A. suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, while S.E. suffered severe bodily injuries. They were provided medical help at the Sarajevo University Hospital.

The on-duty prosecutor was informed about the event and continued with the investigation carried out by the investigation team of the Sarajevo canton police.

On the same day, at 02:30 am, police officers from Sarajevo apprehended B.A. on suspicion of committing serious crimes against safety and traffic, the Interior Ministry said.
