An informal group of psychology students, which seven years ago created the Facebook page "You’re allowing this - for Edita and Selma" when Selma Agic and Edite Malkoc were killed, invited Sarajevo residents to a peaceful gathering in honour of the young doctor Azra Spahic who was killed Friday night in a traffic accident.
“We invite you to a peaceful gathering to honour the woman who was killed in a traffic accident on Friday, in Marsala Tita Street. Unfortunately, we organized such gatherings seven years ago when Selma Agic and Edita Malkoc were killed in a traffic accident not far from this place,” the post on the Facebook page states.
They note that the streets of Sarajevo are not safe and that the existing legal regulations are not adequate.
“Institutions must take responsibility and offer solutions. After irretrievably stolen lives – it is already too late for this, but that does not mean that we will accept the current situation”, said the organizers and added: “With this gathering, we first want to send a message to the family of Azra Spahis that we stand in solidarity with them in their loss and the loss of everyone resident of this city.”
As mentioned in the announcement, the rally will be held Sunday at 6 pm at Marijin Dvor, in Maršala Tita Street, at the site of the accident.
