Several persons were arrested on Thursday in Laktasi near the northern city of Banja Luka in a police operation aimed at preventing organized crime. A local restaurant in the Trn neighbourhood was shut down by the police.
Unofficially, among those arrested is high-ranking police official Nedjeljko Lubura, currently employed in the Service for the Integrity Protection, previously the head of the Directorate for Combating Terrorism, otherwise in close family relations with Dragan Lukac, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-majority region.
According to unconfirmed information, police also arrested Bojan Roguljic, the son of the ‘Jezero’ restaurant, which was closed in the police operation, controversial Banja Luka businessman Slavko Roguljic.
Official reports say that the group detained today is suspected of organised crime, helping the perpetrator after the crime has been committed and abuse of official position or authority.
All activities are carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has not issued any statements yet in regard with this case.
